About the project

Our solution

The Challenge: Growing a Live Data Warehouse Without Breaking It

The bank’s existing enterprise Data Warehouse was already core to daily operations, but it needed to evolve. Data volumes were growing, new applications needed to be integrated, and the architecture had to be ready for what came next — including an eventual move to the cloud.

The task wasn’t to replace what existed. It was to develop it further in a standardized, disciplined way — without disrupting the live, business-critical flows the bank already depended on.

The Discovery: Bringing in IDS

IDS Consulting was brought in to develop, extend, and standardize the bank’s Data Warehouse — designing new data flows and raising the quality and consistency of the information feeding core business processes, while laying groundwork for the bank’s future cloud platform.

The Solution: A Standardized Ingestion and Historization Flow

The team built a complete data ingestion and historization flow from the ground up — defining the transformation rules, mappings, and functional documentation behind it, using Oracle Database, Oracle SQL Developer, and SQL, alongside the bank’s existing project tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel).

  • Complete ingestion and historization flow.  Source data is captured, transformed, and historized end-to-end, creating a reliable base for downstream use.
  • Rules, mappings, and documentation, fully defined.  Every transformation is documented, not just implemented, so the platform stays maintainable as it grows.
  • Data published for real consumption.  The output feeds an application within the bank’s ecosystem and now underpins further development.

The Battle: New Development, Zero Disruption

Every new development had to fit inside a live, complex ecosystem — conforming to the platform’s existing standards without impacting flows already running in production.

The biggest challenge wasn’t technical execution — it was clarity. Initial documentation didn’t always cover every detail needed for implementation, so the team had to actively track down and confirm requirements as they went.

The Results: A Standardized Foundation at Scale

  • Millions of records processed daily.  The new flows handle high-volume data on an ongoing basis, feeding other applications and business processes.
  • Higher data quality and consistency.  Structured historization and clear standards raised the bar across the platform.
  • A standardized foundation for what’s next.  Future development and integrations now build on a consistent, documented base.
  • Delivered to production, engagement growing.  The first project under this engagement went live successfully, and the platform continues to evolve through new initiatives.

“IDS didn’t just build what we asked for — they took the time to understand our platform, so we never had to worry about what a new development might break. That gave us the confidence to keep moving.”

From Days to Minutes: An 8-Year Data Warehouse Transformation for a Leading Telecom Operator

Client: Leading Telecom Operator
IDS Consulting was brought in not for a single fix, but as an ongoing extension of the client’s Data Warehouse team. The mandate: modernize how data moved through the platform, and keep it evolving safely as the business — and the underlying infrastructure — kept changing around it.

Full-Stack Data Platform with Embedded Testing & Knowledge Transfer

Client: A mid-size IT services company
IDS delivered the platform end-to-end (Python and .NET services, automated test coverage from day one) while running a structured knowledge transfer track in parallel — pairing IDS engineers with the client’s internal team throughout, not just in a handover week at the end.

A Full-Stack Commerce Data Platform, Built and Tested End-to-End

Client: A Full-Stack Commerce Data Platform, Built and Tested End-to-End
IDS delivered full-stack development (Java backend, React front end) with a dedicated QA workstream running in parallel from the start — functional, regression, and performance testing built into every sprint — under a single programme manager accountable for scope, timeline, and quality together.
