Overview
We’re looking for a Snowflake Engineer to join one of our Data Engineering teams. You’ll design, develop, and optimize modern cloud data warehouse solutions using the Snowflake Data Cloud platform. You’ll work closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Solution Architects, Data Modellers, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
Requirements
Data engineering & solution design
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions using the Snowflake Data Cloud platform.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable cloud-native data solutions.
- Design data integration architectures supporting enterprise analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to define modern cloud data platform solutions.
- Develop reusable frameworks, standards, and best practices for Snowflake development.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and solution specifications.
Data integration & ETL/ELT
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines loading data into Snowflake from multiple enterprise data sources.
- Implement scalable data ingestion and transformation processes.
- Develop source-to-target mappings and transformation logic based on business requirements.
- Support incremental loading strategies and Change Data Capture (CDC) implementations.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality throughout data integration processes.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and BI teams to support enterprise reporting solutions.
Data modeling & data warehousing
- Design and implement dimensional data models supporting analytical workloads.
- Develop data marts and curated analytical datasets.
- Collaborate with Data Modellers to ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture.
- Optimize database structures for reporting, analytics, and self-service BI.
- Support metadata management and data lineage initiatives.
- Ensure data models remain scalable, maintainable, and well documented.
Performance & optimization
- Optimize Snowflake performance through warehouse tuning, clustering, partitioning strategies, and query optimization.
- Monitor platform utilization and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
- Analyze workloads and improve resource efficiency.
- Implement best practices for workload management and performance monitoring.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Testing, deployment & operations
- Develop automated testing and validation processes for data pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps and DataOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
- Support deployment across development, testing, and production environments.
- Monitor production workloads and investigate operational issues.
- Maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards and operational practices.
Desired profile
Must-have
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Warehousing, or Business Intelligence.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of relational databases.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT solutions and data integration pipelines.
- Good understanding of dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehouse concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt, Azure Data Factory, Matillion, Fivetran, Informatica, or similar integration tools.
- Familiarity with Snowpark (Python, Java, or Scala).
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of DataOps and MLOps practices.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics platforms.
- Experience in Banking, Retail, Insurance, or Telco industries.
- SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
- Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certifications.
