Get to know Ionel Ene, our QA Analyst. Apart from his technical skills, he is our cup of good mood whenever we get together. He knows when a joke can bright up the mood and when a deploy is ready to be set into production. 🪲
Q: How would you describe the position you hold and your main responsabilities?
I have started my current role May 2021 as a DWH Tester. With a background of more than five years as a DWH Developer, I got the opportunity to prove my experience and my overall knowledge in DWH area. Currently, my position of QA Analyst is sort of a mix. I am now responsible for the integration processes, which implies abilities that are a bit more technical. First of all, I am responsible for keeping the test environments updated with real data synchronized from Production and the latest releases developed and delivered by the dev team.
Q: What attracted you to this field of activity?
I am part of this DWH area since 2014. Back then, honestly, I did not have too many info about this area and I had no idea what to expect further. Since then, I have never stopped learning. There is a huge amount of tools, methodologies, practices to be absorbed. I got the chance to work in big teams for companies like Unicredit, Societe Generale or Erste Bank and this came with the chance to have very experienced teammates or, on the other hand, young colleagues. Whichever the case, I was always willing to learn from both categories and always ready to transfer my knowledge to the new colleagues. A dynamic working environment it is always attractive and entertaining.
Q: What are the most pleasant aspects about the IDS team?
I am part of IDS team since 2018 when I joined a project as a DWH Tester. This experience came for me with many challenges. Working in a multicultural environment for two years was that kind of experience that was missing from my professional portfolio and proved to be a very significant one. I am continuously feeling IDS’s support in whatever difficulties I face in my professional life. IDS did a great job in keeping its consultants united by bringing them together so often and in such an entertaining way (team-buildings, events and so on). I had the opportunity to see this team growing and got to know most of the IDS consultants. I think it is not too much if I say that I am feeling like being part of a big and united family.
Q: Recommend us an idea on how to spend a perfect weekend 👌🏼
Most of us have known each other for many years or we were working together during our previous jobs. We shared together so many stories and jokes and so many others are still waiting to be told. I think that there is no special environment to be prepared for a group of friends. However, IDS has done such a good job in the past events…
Hope you have enjoyed this Q&A and it gave you a little bit of light in what us and our team does in their daily job. We are more that grateful to have Ionel as a full time QA Analyst and part time comediant.
