Our solution

The Challenge: A Manual Process Holding Back the Business

Every new customer enrolled in a bank acquisition campaign was owed an enrollment bonus. But the process to determine eligibility, handle exceptions, and trigger payment was entirely manual. By the time payments reached customers, 30 or more days had passed since enrollment.

The bank was fielding complaints, carrying operational risk, and spending analyst hours on work that should have been automatic. For a bank running campaigns at scale, this was both a reputational and operational liability.

The Discovery: Bringing in IDS

IDS Consulting was brought in to redesign the entire eligibility flow from enrollment trigger to accounting system — not to patch the existing process, but to replace it.

The Solution: DWH-Powered Automation

IDS Consulting took end-to-end ownership: eliciting and formalizing the business rules and all edge cases, designing the target flow with architecture, and writing the functional specifications.

  • Business rules formalized.  Eligibility logic and exception handling were documented for the first time, agreed across business, accounting, and development.
  • DWH-driven algorithms.  Working from data already in the bank’s Data Warehouse, automated algorithms determine eligibility and route payment data without human input.
  • Straight-through processing.  Validated, audit-ready payment data flows directly to accounting on a weekly cycle — zero manual touchpoints.

The Battle: Eight Weeks, Multiple Fronts

The project launched in December 2025 under significant time pressure. Driving it required simultaneous alignment across business, development, architecture, and accounting — departments that rarely share the same deadline.

By February 2026, just eight weeks after kick-off, the first customers were paid under the new automated flow.

The Results: Quality You Can Count On

  • Payment cycle cut from 30+ days to weekly.  Enrollment bonuses reach customers within 7 days.
  • Fully automated, zero manual interventions.  The process runs end-to-end without human touchpoints.
  • Complete audit trail.  Every payment decision is logged and traceable.
  • Measurable drop in customer complaints.  Fewer escalations for bonus non-payment.
  • Full process documentation delivered.  The bank can maintain and evolve the flow independently.
